Data & Communications Technicians
Mergent Recruitment are currently seeking multiple talented Communications and Data Technicians to join our team based in Brisbane CBD. Due to our recent business growth and the opportunities within the business we are seeking a suitably practiced candidates with trade qualifications and industrial experience.
The successful candidates will be involved a long term project on a full time basis. Work weeks will consist of 40 hour weeks accruing RDO's with regular overtime opportunities.
Key roles and responsibilities
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, using test equipment.
- Install complete comms systems to new construction building sites and structures.
- Inspect comms systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for repair to ensure compliance.
- Installation of new fibreoptic cables, termination of current cables and splicing of existing cables.
- Installing CAT6A structured cabling systems, termination of cable and installing cable support systems, light source and OTDR fiber optic testing.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment to perform duties.
Qualifications & Licences:
- Relevant Trade Certificates/Licenses
- Appropriate industry experience
- Driver's license
- Open Registration with Optical, Structured, and Coaxial endorsements
- LVR/CPR certification
- Work Safely at Heights training
- License to perform high-risk work - EWP (Elevated Work Platform)
- Construction Industry White Card
Non Negotiable:

- Applicants must have their own vehicle and drivers licence
