Mergent are currently seeking a Trades Assistant with HDPE Poly Welding accreditation to join our client's team. As a Trades Assistant, you will work alongside the HDPE Welders and assist them in welding and fusing high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes and fittings. You will work on various projects in the construction, oil and gas, and water treatment industries both locally and remote.
Responsibilities:
- Commitment to safety and safe work environments
- Assist the HDPE Welders in welding and fusing HDPE pipes, fittings and liner according to industry standards
- Perform maintenance on HDPE welding equipment
- Ensure all work is completed according to industry and safety regulations / standards and company policies
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects within specified timelines
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Trades Assistant in the construction, oil and gas, or water treatment industries
- Strong knowledge of HDPE welding techniques and equipment
- Accredited HDPE welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to work flexible hours and travel when necessary
