We are seeking skilled and self-motivated Mechanical Technicians to contribute to the success of our Operations Team in 2024. Position Overview:The Mechanical Technician is a vital team member responsible for providing essential support to the operations and maintenance activities of a gas plant/fields. As part of our clients team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of all mechanical systems within their operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background and a commitment to excellence in the Oil & Gas sector.
Responsibilities:- Diagnose faults, breakdowns, and emergent work. Estimate time and materials required for repairs including preparation of work orders .
- Execute / perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on plant and equipment safely and effectively . P rovide technical assistance, as required, to the Operations Team .
- Keep accurate logs and records associated with mechanical maintenance activities. Interface with the clients Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in all work preparation, execution, and close-out .
- Create quality maintenance work packs .
- Act in the capacity of Permit Holder, direct works under own control with due regard for risk management .
- Provide assurance and support specialist contractors as required .
- Execute Safety Case Performance Standard maintenance verification and proof testing activities .
- Demonstrate high-quality fault-finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot autonomously, whilst adhering to all procedures .
- Maintain maintenance registers and databases for Operations and site-specific equipment and systems .
- Provide advice and recommendations on improvements in production and planned maintenance.
- Provide input to design change implementation, participation in HAZOP reviews, feedback on preventative plans .
- Observe, monitor and supervise contract staff working onsite .
- Assist in developing SOPs to ensure safe execution of all maintenance activities .
- Responsibility for the identification of continuous improvement opportunities and participation in the development and implementation of solutions.
- Adopting standard safe work practices and procedures in accordance with our clients safety policies.
- Eliminating or reporting workplace hazards, taking part in safety drills and other activities and supporting the work of safety representatives and committees .
- Conducting activities in accordance with our clients environmental policies, codes and guidelines, in particular minimising energy and material usage in the workplace.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum or equivalent trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Fitter & Turner (Machinist), Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Fixed Plant Mechanic, Diesel Fitter .
- Intermediate skills in MS Products (Word excel etc) .
- Current Australian Drivers Licence (C, MR or HR) .
- Adopting standard safe work practices and procedures in accordance with our client’s safety policies.
- Eliminating or reporting workplace hazards, taking part in safety drills and other activities and supporting the work of safety representatives and committees .
- Conducting activities in accordance with our clients’ environmental policies, codes and guidelines, in particular minimising energy and material usage in the workplace.
- Self-motivated, high initiative and adaptability .
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills .
- Ability to work in a team environment .
- Have a flexible approach in working hours to meet varying workloads and operational demands .
- Sound written and oral communication skills with ability to liaise with all levels of management and staff .
It is desirable that the incumbent can demonstrate experience and/or knowledge in the following:
- Reciprocating Compressors and Drivers (Ajax, Waukesha, Ariel)
- Power Generation
- Well Head maintenance
- Pneumatic Controls
- Shut Down Work
- Maintenance Planning
