To coordinate Mechanical Engineering Design requirements with sales, projects and procurement teams. To coordinate design and execution across site contractors, vendors and internal and external Engineering teams and take technical responsibility for specialised engineering activity.

To ensure plant designs are efficient, fit-for-purpose, and cost-competitive and that the Sales, Projects, and Operations teams are provided with effective process advice and support throughout all phases of projects.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To carry out coordination with various functions to provide timely inputs and outputs with Engineering
  • Ensure detailed and mechanical designs are completed in line with Australian Standards, budgets, quality and agreed project timelines
  • Provide ongoing support to Proposals engineers to complete accurate designs, documentation, and costing for Proposals
  • To serve as the interface between the Engineering team located in India and the Australian based Projects team
  • Work collaboratively with staff located in interstate and international offices and encourage regular update meetings, correspondence and exchanging of ideas
  • Work actively to seek where other staff need assistance, and taking time to fully explain concepts to give staff full understanding of technical and commercial concepts

 

The right candidate will ideally but not necessarily have all:

  • Degree Qualified in Mechanical or PMBOK Qualified
  • Hold Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Australia
  • Experience in the detailed mechanical engineering design, selection and coordination of water and/or wastewater equipment
  • Understanding of technical standards including, but not limited to:
    • Australian Standards
    • ASME
    • ANSI
    • API
  • Prior experience working in EPC Project environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent Customer orientation and ability to meet customer demands
  • Organisation skills.
  • Working knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems
  • Willingness to travel when required
  • Understanding economic principles such as balance between CapEx and OpEx, to achieve an optimised design that meets the customer’s needs
  • Understanding of how commercial and contractual matters impact technical designs (including warranty and operations liabilities)
