TIG Welder / Pipe Fitter

Mergent have an urgent requirement for qualified and experienced TIG welders and pipe fitters for a short-term project lasting approximately three weeks. It is essential that candidates possess their own welding equipment and tools to ensure seamless execution of the project. Job Description:

As a TIG welder and pipe fitter for this specific project, your responsibilities will include performing welding tasks using the TIG process, executing pipe fitting and welding tasks according to project specifications. You will be joining, fabricating, and repairing metal components as required. The project is expected to last approximately three weeks, during which you will collaborate with a team to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilise your own welding equipment and tools to perform TIG welding & pipe fitting tasks.
  • Execute welding tasks according to project specifications, blueprints, and industry standards.
  • Prepare materials, surfaces, and components for welding, ensuring cleanliness and proper preparation.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect welds and conduct quality checks to ensure adherence to required standards.
  • Interpret technical drawings, plans, and welding symbols to perform tasks accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals within the given timeframe.
  • Maintain welding equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a TIG welder & pipe fitter with a strong track record of successful projects.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding techniques and pipe welding processes.
  • Ownership of personal welding equipment and tools.
  • Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
  • Physical fitness and dexterity to work in various positions and environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Availability to work full-time including weekends for approximately three weeks starting immediately.
